NU'EST unit NU'EST W have released a special single, 'If You' for the fans who have waited for them on the 25th.
‘If You’ is, just like the lyrics say, a song that sings in the subjunctive form of the lonely missing of someone who is not at [the singer’s] side now. It delivers the sense of regret at being unable to be together now, and the thing that does not exist, as a calm but deep sadness. It can also be said to contain the feelings of the members who could not gather and sing together from when they participated on ‘Produce 101’ to before the comeback happens.
The song contains the speciality of emotional lyrics, such as "If you were here, past all our memories / Fall, swim, maybe because your scent is strongly input" and "I'll keep your empty spot empty / I wanna put back the greetings for now".
Not just the strong amount of sadness, but through the same rhyming couplets in the beginning and the end, the development calmly delivers the emotions of the song and doubles the sadness of it.
'If You' was produced by Kiggen and Choi Jinkyung, who have joined together again after 'Daybreak' a song that was included in NU'EST 5th mini album as JR and Minhyun's unit song, and also recently climbing up the charts. Furthermore, JR personally wrote the lyrics for all the rap parts, and added sincerity to the ardently longing emotions [of the song].
On the other hand, excluding Hwang Minhyun who has joined Wanna One, JR (Kim Jonghyun), Aron, Baekho (Kang Dongho), and Ren (Choi Minki) have decided to promote as a new unit NU'EST W. NU'EST W was created as the name of the unit as NU'EST are currently not complete, and contains the meaning of 'Wait' to signify the long wait that they have endured until their comeback and will endure until they become complete to meet the fans.
After this, NU'EST will meet the fans again with a new album and officially begin promotions.
